Since February 2020, Santiago Durán Domínguez has been President of the Accounting and Auditing Institute (ICAC), the Spanish accounting standard-setting Public Authority and the Spanish Auditing Supervisory Authority. He is the president of Auditing Committee and the Accounting Council of ICAC and member of the board of directors of the Spanish Executive Resolution Authority (FROB).
He is graduated in Economics and Business Administration from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), Insurance Inspector and chartered auditor. He has more than 25 years of experience in the public sector including the Spanish Tax Agency (AEAT), the Spanish Insurance Supervisory Authority (DGSFP) and ICAC. Since 2007 he has been involved in EU financed programs in different countries (Egypt, Georgia, Northern Macedonia, and Bulgaria) to help strengthen regulatory and supervisory activity in the fields of Insurance, Auditing, and money laundering prevention.
