Matis has been the Executive Director of BETTER FINANCE, The European Federation of Investors and Financial Services Users, since July 2023, having previously served as Finance Officer of the same organisation from January 2020 onwards.
He has previously served as Financial Director of AEGEE-Europe (The European Students' Forum) in Brussels and worked as a consultant and project manager in the commercial real estate sector in his native Estonia.
Matis holds a master's degree in management and a bachelor's degree in applied economics, specialising in banking and finance, both from Tallinn University of Technology. During his studies, he also completed a one-year exchange at the École Supérieure de Commerce de Rouen, focusing on international finance.
