Elina Peill leads the ESG Assurance practice at Deloitte in Sweden. She has over 20 years of experience in external corporate reporting, covering both sustainability reporting standards and the EU Taxonomy, as well as the implications of international accounting standards—particularly IFRS—and the development of reporting processes and practices, including ESEF reporting. She has also participated in and led several CSRD/ESRS, IFRS, and US GAAP conversion projects. She advises both assurance and audit clients across various industries, mainly in the Nordics but also internationally. In addition, she has worked to develop IFRS and Accounting Advisory Services for Deloitte both in the Nordic region and more broadly across EMEA.
In the area of sustainability reporting, Elina is a member of Deloitte’s Expert Advisory Panel on ESG/Sustainability Disclosures and the Corporate Reporting Policy Group of Accountancy Europe. She holds the FSA Credential (SASB). In the field of financial reporting, Elina has a particular interest in the presentation of IFRS financial statements and in accounting for revenue and leases. She also actively promotes discussion on the impact of climate change on IFRS financial statements.
Elina contributes to the translation of IFRS standards into Finnish and participates in training and other activities organised by the Finnish Association of Authorised Public Accountants. She is a co-author of a book on EU sustainability reporting, an online information resource on IFRS reporting, and a book on financial statements of listed entities.
Before joining Deloitte in 2011, Elina worked as a Senior Accounting Expert (IFRS) at the Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority and in IFRS accounting advisory services at PwC.
