Roman Sauer is Group Chief Accountant for the Allianz Group since 2015. In this role he oversees the Accounting & Reporting function for the Group and is responsible for internal and external financial as well as sustainability and regulatory reporting. Roman is with Allianz since 2006 and served in various Finance & Accounting roles in Germany and France. At EFRAG he was a member of the Insurance Accounting Working Group until his Board appointment and is a member of the Project Task Force for non-Financial Reporting. Roman is member of the Administrative Board of the Accounting Standards Committee of Germany (ASCG) and chairs its Insurance Working Group. For Insurance Europe he chairs the Financial Reporting Working Group. He holds a PhD in Business Administration from the University of Munich.
