New Event - The VSME Standard in Action: From the European Commission’s Recommendation to Digital Solutions
EFRAG is pleased to invite stakeholders to the upcoming VSME Outreach Event on 6 October 2025, “The VSME Standard in Action: From the European Commission’s Recommendation to Digital Solutions.”
The event will provide an opportunity to:
- Hear the European Commission present its Recommendation on the VSME Standard, with reactions from the Danish Presidency representative, banks (EACB) and SMEs (SMEUnited).
- Get an overview of the EFRAG VSME Ecosystem and digital tools from EFRAG experts
- Gain insights into EFRAG’s mapping of tools and GHG calculators with contributions from Danish Business Authority (Climate Compass) and ABC/ADEME (Bilan Carbone).
- Explore updates on the VSME Digital Template, with a testimony from the 2024 reporting cycle from EFAA for SMEs.
- Join a panel on the EFRAG’s mapping of VSME based online platforms featuring German Sustainability Code (DNK), OeKB (Austrian banking initiative), and ConfESG (Confartigianato Imprese CNA).
- Hear practical experiences from FoodDrinkEurope, Fenavian and EuroCommerce on how SMEs engage with their business counterparts through digital platforms.
This hybrid event will take place online and in person at EFRAG’s offices, 35 Square de Meeûs, Brussels (fifth floor). Please note that in-person attendance is subject to confirmation due to limited capacity.

Background on VSME Ecosystem
Following EFRAG’s technical advice on the VSME to the European Commission, EFRAG has been working on the roll-out of the VSME Ecosystem which includes complementary initiatives aimed at promoting market acceptance of the VSME in order to fully realize the benefits of the standard. The ecosystem will span until November 2025.
EFRAG will publish the two mappings concerning the digital tools and platforms and initiatives in the upcoming week.
