After stints in civil society organisations and the European Parliament, Julian Müller joined EFRAG's sustainability reporting team in June 2024. Before EFRAG, he was the Sustainable Finance Officer at BEUC, the European Consumer Organisation in Brussels. He was also a member of EFRAG's Sustainability Reporting Technical Expert Group from October 2022 until April 2024.
Julian Müller is an economic sociologist by training. He holds a Magister Artium in philosophy from the Free University Berlin and a PhD in sociology from Lancaster University (UK). His PhD research was on the political economy of the international standardisation of financial accounting through IFRS and the rise of fair value accounting.
